1Find money owed to you

Every state holds forgotten money — old paychecks, deposits, refunds. Type each state you've ever lived in, then search your name on its official site (all 51 verified below). Check the box when you've searched a state.

Where this takes you: your state's official unclaimed property website — run by the state treasury or comptroller (all 51 links verified October 6, 2026). These government sites are the only legal holders of unclaimed money; searching and claiming there is always free.

How the search works

  1. Open your state's official site and search your full legal name — try current and past last names.
  2. Also search states where you worked, went to school, or had a PO box — money follows activity, not just residence.
  3. Filing is free on official sites. Never pay anyone to "find" your unclaimed money.
  4. Claims need ID verification and take weeks to months to pay out — file early.

2Claim open settlements

Class action settlements pay real money to ordinary people — many need no proof of purchase. File only for what is actually true; claims are under penalty of perjury. Verify each deadline on the official settlement site before filing.

Where this takes you: the official settlement administrator's claim site — or a search to locate the court-approved page. Real class action claims are always free and filed under penalty of perjury: only file for what is actually true.
⏰ Deadlines are close — several of these expire in October 2026. File the ones you qualify for this week.

3Grab bank bonuses

Banks pay you to open accounts — the fastest legitimate money on this page. Pick 2–3 whose requirements fit your paycheck schedule.

Where this takes you: the bank's own official website (e.g., chase.com, sofi.com) via a partner link — Bonus Radar may earn a commission at no cost to you (see disclosure below). Only ever enter personal information on the bank's real site.

How bonus stacking works

  1. Open each account through the promotional link — bonuses don't apply on the bank's regular page.
  2. "Direct deposit" means payroll/pension/government ACH. Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and bank transfers generally do not count.
  3. Keep the account open until the bonus posts (30–120 days). Some banks claw it back if you close within 6 months.
  4. Bonuses are taxable income — expect a 1099 and set aside ~22%.

4Enter legit sweepstakes

Free to enter, real sponsors, real prizes. Daily-entry ones are worth bookmarking. Never pay to enter or to claim a win — that's always a scam. Prizes over ~$600 are taxable.

Where this takes you: the sponsoring brand's official sweepstakes page (the brand's own site). Legitimate sweepstakes are always free to enter — anyone asking you to pay to enter or to claim a prize is a scam.

5Audit your subscriptions

Subscriptions quietly drain hundreds of dollars a year — and duplicate charges are more common than you'd think. Check off everything you pay for, correct the monthly amount if yours differs, and add anything missing. We'll total it up and flag possible duplicates automatically.

Where this takes you: nowhere — this audit runs entirely on this page. Nothing you type leaves your device. When you're ready to cancel something, use the Cancel → link on its card to go straight to the service's official cancellation page (or the how-to below for app-store subscriptions).

Add a subscription that's not listed

How to actually cancel

  1. iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → choose it → Cancel Subscription.
  2. Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cancel.
  3. Subscribed on the web: log in on the service's own official site → Account or Billing → Cancel. Only ever enter payment details on the real site.
  4. Find them all: scan 12 months of bank and credit card statements for recurring charges — then check each one off above.

Common questions

Is this really free?

Yes. Official unclaimed property searches and claims are free, class action claims are free, and US law requires sweepstakes to offer a free entry method. Never pay anyone to find your money or claim a prize.

How long does unclaimed money take to arrive?

Typically weeks to a few months after you file with documentation. States verify your identity before paying.

Will bank bonuses hurt my credit?

Checking/savings accounts usually involve only a soft pull or ChexSystems check — no credit score impact. Brokerage accounts don't pull credit at all.

Are sweepstakes winnings taxed?

Yes — prizes over about $600 are reported to the IRS and you owe federal/state tax on the prize's stated value.

Is this site safe to use?

Yes. Bonus Radar has no signup, no accounts, and no server collecting your data — your checklist progress is stored only in your own browser, on your own device. Every outbound link goes to an official destination (state .gov sites, settlement administrators, banks, or sponsoring brands), each verified October 6, 2026, and the page itself is served over encrypted HTTPS.
